What happens when you lose your sleep for a couple of day ?well ,that will be tolerating for some reasons but,what happens when you lose it for a week ,that is something serious and you would have some disastrous mental and physical health issues making it sometimes impossible.But back in those days the Russians would do some creepy stuffs trying to make the humans unimaginably powerful , among which the "The Sleep Experiment" is one .

In 1940s ,during the period of war ,the Soviet Union had scientists to work on the ability of the soldiers to make them impeccable.They used to discover and invent chemicals which used to make them capable of handling fatal situations and perform  extremely I'm the war .One of such ideas was the discovery of "Speed drugs"and "The Sleep Experiment" .Though only few activities of the Russians in the labs back in those days were disclosed yet they seemed to be the creepiest .

The Soviet wanted it's soldiers to be sleepless so that they can utilize their sleep time in the wars and be more efficient. In order to do this ,the Scientists discovered an experiment called "The Sleep Experiment" .For this experiment they chose the 5 most healthiest prisons from the camp claiming that they would offer freedom for those who pass the 15 days test or they would be a prisoner for their lifetime .All they had to do was pass the 15 days without sleep .The five prisoners agreed to do so and for the prisoners to keep awake , Scientists found a gas that was passed into the chamber.

This chamber was a room where the gases and the oxygen were recorded and controlled so no gas can escape the chamber .The connections of the gases were given via pipes with a controlled quantity.The chamber had nothing but a book for the prisoners to read and had no medium of interaction to the outer world .The chamber was completely sealed and had just a glass for the scientists to examine the activities of the prisoners to keep a track.

On the first day ,the gas was passed and the prisoners spent it as usual without any changes in their behavior.On the following day,the prisoners spoke to each other spending it naturally.After a couple of days days the prisoners felt a change in their mental health leading to a disturbance in the mind and reacting a little wierd but upcoming days were the bizzare things taking place .On most probably the seventh day,one of the prisoners started running in the chamber  yelling  so loudly the whole day that his vocal cord could severely damage .And yes it did ,the scream was so loud and continuous that the next day he vocal cord was torn and he cord no longer speak and the scientists noticed just air coming out of his mouth .The creepy thing here is that the other prisoners did nothing but just sit around the corner without a movement .

                      

The prisoners were mentally and frustrated,that they shut the window with the papers and the scientists could not see what is going on in the chamber .After a day the chamber remained so quiet that they didn't even know what was going on in the chamber but the oxygen level in the chamber was evident that the prisoners were still alive .On the following days,a guard went to see the prisoners where he witnessed the horrific incident in his life and yes,in the history too .

The food that was sent for days was untouched and the gas affected them so badly that they have become a mental predators .What he saw was the prisoners cutting open their own flesh and the co prisoners' and were turned into monsters .The body of the prisoners was so disturbing to see because their parts were so weird that their condition could not reveal the identity.Half of the body parts were not there ,to be precise .The prisoners had ripped off each other's flesh that their rip cage were completely open and their hear beating was clearly visible and the digestive systems were working and what was further distressed was that it was digesting the flesh of each other .But they where alive .The prisoners

attacked the guard and they were taken to the hospital asap and though they were given a five times stronger anaesthesia,they were still screaming and tending to  attack.After only a few minutes all died . The experiment was pulled off further in just 10 days and was unsuccessful . This experiment and the result will remain as one of the creepiest things that is ever happened in the history. 

When the scientist asked for the conclusion of the experiment, to the last surviving prisoner , to end the experiment  he said - "We are the madness that lurks you begging to be free sat every moment in your deepest animal mind " after which he died due to the loss of blood from his ripped off eyes cavity.
